Visits are regularly organised to the theatre, restaurants,

gardens and other places of interest

In 2023, we visited the Richard III visitor centre in Leicester, local gardens, Ferneleys for adventure golf, Harlaxton Manor and a tour of Tolethorpe Hall. We also enjoyed several theatre productions and a visit to Peterborough Cathedral in November for a tour entitled Women of Peterborough. We have continued to enjoy trails around local villages, usually incorporating lunch or coffee. For our main summer outing we enjoyed lunch on a boat cruising down the Trent at Nottingham.

In 2024, we have enjoyed several theatre trips, visits to Easton Walled Gardens and Growers Row (the local community gardening space in Oakham), a private tour of Deene Park near Corby, a treasure trail in Wymondham and much more.

During lockdowns, we were meeting up regularly in town for coffee in COVID-safe groups of six. It was a welcome opportunity to stay in touch with fellow members.

We have continued to hold these sessions as we have found them a good way for members to get to know each other.
